Kumo AI Shortlisted in The 2024 A.I. Awards

Kumo AI short-listed for A.I. Awards 2024

By Vanja Josifovski, CEO

We are thrilled to announce that Kumo AI has been shortlisted in The 2024 A.I. Awards in the following categories:

  1. AI Solution of the Year
  2. AI Startup of the Year
  3. Most Innovative AI Technology
  4. Best Use of AI-driven Personalization
  5. Best Use of AI in Retail and eCommerce

The A.I. Awards recognize and reward excellence and innovation in the use or development of cloud artificial intelligence technologies, and machine learning.

This announcement comes on the heels of our research being shared at the International Conference on Machine Learning last month and additional research being presented at KDD in Barcelona next week.

Here at Kumo AI, we enable you to quickly build the best AI models from your data warehouse for predictive use cases such as recommendation, personalization, fraud detection, and other user behaviors. We use the entirety of the data warehouse.  Without the requirement for a fixed schema and the elimination of feature engineering and training set creation, we accelerate and improve predictions.

Our unique approach uses pre-trained LLMs to process textual and image data and then creates a graph where each row in the warehouse is represented as a node and primary-foreign keys as connections. Then, we apply graph transformers and attention architectures to learn how to combine all the information to produce a prediction. This process, embedding tuning, is where foundation model embeddings are transformed using tabular data in data warehouses to achieve the best performance for predictive tasks.

CEO of The Cloud Awards, James Williams, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the shortlist of the inaugural A.I. Awards. The program gives a dedicated platform for organizations to highlight the exciting work that is being carried out in the world of cloud AI, and those who have been shortlisted represent the very best in this field, worldwide. The shortlist demonstrates that innovation is being driven by established household names to bold new startups, and everything in between. Our judges have an enviable task in determining which of these outstanding organizations deserve to be taken forward to the next stage of this year’s program. Good luck to all our shortlistees!”

Kumo AI could not be more proud to have been shortlisted in both the Most Innovative Technology of the Year category and the Best Use of AI in Retail and eCommerce. This achievement underpins our commitment to building real, proven AI solutions that organizations put into production and get a return on – not “just some cool AI thing” they kick around trying to find a use for.

We appreciate our partnerships with Snowflake and Databricks who have helped us scale our innovations across their platforms, bringing together the best of the data warehouse with the best of predictive AI.

We could not have done this without our customers who joined us on this amazing and wonderful journey. Their feedback, commitment, and real business scenarios have helped our team stay focused, purposeful, and driven in delivering Kumo. For that, we are eternally grateful.

Finally, thank you to everyone on the Kumo AI team who has contributed lines of code, hours debugging, lunchtime product ideation, and ceaseless optimism about our mission and vision.

The award program now enters its next round of judging, with the final winners announced in October.
